Needed People

TSV Garden Manager Needed

TerraSante Village needs an experienced gardener manager to manage our year-round intensive community organic garden of about 1/4+ acres and growing.  The purpose of the TSV gardens is to demonstrate a high level of efficiency, experiment with permaculture, and explore optimal methods of food production.
This person will love plants, and love sharing that with others.  This person will be friendly, communicative, capable, energetic.  This person can be a mentor.
Responsibilities include:
Coordination with the kitchen, native plant, and helping persons.  Planning for planting and harvesting needs, calender keeping.  Saves seed, organizes seed.  Sees that irrigation is maintained.  Operates/coordinates compost bins, soilbuilding, etc.  Keeps track of garden tools.  Promotes safety in the garden.  Identifies garden needs, suggests improvements. 
Amenities include:
This position could begin as a work trade (24 hr/wk) with at least some months of commitment, and evolve to a full membership in TSV.  Room and basic foods are provided by the community.  Opportunities for dialogue, learning and teaching related to sustainability, and the resources of TSV and Terrasante Community.

TSV Workshop "Boneyard" Manager Needed

TSV needs a person to manage our workshop area which encompasses about 1/2 acre of ramadas, storage sheds, and various hardware and projects.  The purpose of the TSV workshops is to provide the space and tools to create sustainable infrastructure as locally as possible.
This person loves to tinker.  They like working with things mechanical and electric.  They are good with tools, clever at solving problems, resourceful with the items at hand.  This person will be friendly, communicative, capable, energetic.  This person can be a mentor.
Responsibilities include :
Coordination with the TSV members, TS Community and others about use of tools, vehicles, etc.  Promotes safety with tools and vehicles, projects, and spaces.  Ensures that the workshop area stays clean, organized, clear of obstacles.  Keeps a focus on key TSV/TSC projects. (solar/wind well backup, electric vehicle, etc.)  Helps plan and organize projects and helpers.  Identifies boneyard needs, suggests improvements.
Amenities include:

  - Small computer projector & screen for community library
  - Old digital camera (2 megapixel) for website photos
  - Old laptop computers, any age or condition
      for off-grid use, solar trackers, motor controllers, etc, etc
      (if possible with original power supply, batteries, cables, disks)
  - Old wifi access points & antennas, ethernet cables & routers
  - LCD flatscreen monitors, keyboards, mice
