Visitor InfoIf you'd like to visit for a day or overnight, please see our events calendar for community workdays and other public events. To arrange a longer stay, please come for a short visit first, or contact us in advance by email or phone. Visitors are responsible for their own safety, and that of their children and pets. Visitors must sign a release form if working or staying for more than a short time, and abide by our community neighborhood agreement. Courtesy and respect in all relations here. Quiet hours 10 pm to 8 am. Drug-free is our policy. No smoking in or around community buildings, and no alcohol at the fire circle. Pets may not roam, and must be attended at all times. No guns at TerraSante. People are expected to clean up after themselves, and then some. Cleaning help is always appreciated. Work-exchange on chores and ongoing projects is requested. Visitors, apprentices, residents, and members are all expected to make a significant contribution in harmony with our mission at TerraSante Village. Also see our wish list. Winter - Mostly sunny & dry with occasional rain. Cold at night (20-40 F), often just below freezing, and usually warms up nicely during the day (50-70 F). Can get very windy! Summer - Mostly sunny & dry, frequent short rainstorms during July & August. Can get very hot during the day (90-110 F), and cools down at night (60-80 F). Clothing in layers is always a good idea, along with a sun hat and plenty of drinking water in hot weather. When camping here on winter nights, you'll want a good 3- or 4-season sleeping bag. For safety, and minimizing our impact on the desert, please stay on roadways & designated paths. Elsewhere are ongoing construction, open ditches, and cactus. Very occasionally we encounter rattlesnakes, scorpions, spiders. At night, a good flashlight or headlamp is essential. In respect of peace and wildlife at Himdag Sanctuary, please no pets, vehicles, cellphones, radios, etc within the sanctuary area. Accomodations at TerraSanteCamping - Bring a tent & sleeping bag, arrive before dark to set up. RV spaces - On or off-grid. No chemical septic dumping. Housing - The earthdome, yurt, or trailers may be available. Community library, kitchen & garden - Community resources & gathering space. Books, music & videos, phone & internet access, cooking tools, refrigeration & community food. Local resourcesRoble's Junction (west 3 miles) - Gas station, cafe, hardware & dollar stores. Community errand run once or twice a week. Tucson, Arizona (east 20 miles) - Pima County commuter bus (one round trip each weekday), Community errand run about once a week. Touring, hiking & camping - Old Tucson Studios, Sonoran Desert Museum, Saguaro National Park, Sierrita Mountains, Tohono O'odham Nation, Kitt Peak Observatory, etc.
