Our local CommunityTerraSante Villageis located on 8.4 acres, and is a 501c3 nonprofit with specific intention to manifest sustainability. We serve as a resource for our local community, with ideas, books, tools, materials, and hands to help. Many of our neighbors participate in our activities here. The earth we live on is sacred to us, and what we are creating here reflects this belief. We seek dedicated persons (as resident& non-resident members) to help us move our mission ahead. See our mission statement and neighborhood agreements. Our community draws from Tucson, Robles Jct., and the neighbors who include Harmony & Health, Kokopeli Gardens, Interstellar Light Applications and other residents. We share in common a curiosity for nature, an interest in sustainable living, working together for community, and creative collaborative ventures. We are a diverse collection of individuals and groups with knowledge and skills working on common and individually related projects. We seek like minded partners of substance and vision. Our terrain sits about 2450ft (747m) above sea level on a gently sloping valley mesquite plain below the remnants of the once mighty Sierrita mountains, now only 6000 ft, in the sunny, magical Sonoran desert 20 miles southwest of Tucson Arizona. Our reddish soil is rich in clay, and sand is plentiful. Our existing vegetation is predominantly mesquite with occasional catci and grasses, changed by cattle 150 years ago from the then predominant grasslands.. 10,000 years ago the vegetation was pinyon pine and juniper. How we adapt to changes speaks to our sustainability.
